The application period for SFMA’s Field of the Year (FOY) Awards is officially open!

SFMA Field of the Year Awards

This is one of SFMA’s signature recognition programs, celebrating excellence in sports field management across our profession. We encourage everyone to help spread the word throughout your networks and among deserving colleagues who consistently demonstrate outstanding field management.

Field of the Year Awards recognize excellence in three facility categories:

• Schools & Parks
• Colleges & Universities
• Facilities Used by Professional Athletes

Within each category, awards are presented in five sports:

• Baseball
• Football
• Softball
• Soccer
• Sporting Grounds (including sports such as lacrosse, rugby, and other specialty fields)

This year, applications have moved into SFMA’s new Member Portal. Applicants simply log in and access the application under the Awards & Scholarships section.

Applications are due October 15, 2026, with recipients notified in November.
