James “Jimmy” Connelly passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026.

One of the New England Sports Field Management Association’s founding fathers, Jimmy was a dedicated professional, respected industry leader, and cherished friend to many. His leadership, devotion to the profession, and indomitable spirit helped shape NE-SFMA and left a lasting mark on the sports field management community.

Jimmy’s contributions to our industry were many, but it is the friendships he built and the lives he touched that will be remembered most.

NE-SFMA extends heartfelt condolences to Jim’s beloved wife, Karen, and the entire Connelly family. We are grateful for Jim’s many years of friendship and service, and we will miss him greatly.

Jimmy’s family has requested that memorial donations be made to Angel Flight NE which provides free angel flights and ground transportation so children and adults can access life-saving medical care.
