A New Frontier for Turfgrass Professionals
The entire green industry is looking for guidance and community in the face of great uncertainty. While many have concerns about maintaining their own employment and income, still others are business owners trying to operate under challenging new restrictions. Sports turf managers and golf course superintendents have had quiet fields and fairways as their facilities have been closed. These are certainly unusual times.
But one thing has not changed. The resourcefulness of the turf community has never been more apparent than right now. Organizations large and small have come together to advocate for each other and ensure that the industry is recognized as essential. Individuals have reached out via social media to make connections for those who have lost their positions as a result of the lockdowns. Now more than ever, the men and women who make up this industry need each other.
Webinars, online happy hours, video conferencing recertifications, social media Q&A’s, and other internet offerings are keeping our grass greener and our outlooks brighter.
